Drawing from the Well
Next retreat: Sat., Sept. 12, 8:30am–1pm
Focus: spiritual wellness
First Lutheran invites all women to participate in this discipline, where we will explore the idea of wellness. We will begin with a study of Luke 5:27-32 (Jesus calls a tax collector and then eats with him and his friends!). We will have conversation and then talk about spiritual practices that allow us to quiet our minds and the outside world so that we can enter the peace-filled heart of God. We will walk a labyrinth, do a short meditative exercise and learn a yoga sun salutation. Lunch will be at the church. Questions? Contact Pastor Karyn: email@example.com.
Usher training sessions will be offered four times in the coming months; pick a Sunday to learn more about how you, and even your entire family, can serve in this way! Sept. 13, 27, Oct. 4, 11 all from 9:30–10am. Sign up online or at the Connecting Point table.

Later this month, youth and adult volunteers will be needed to assist in switching inventory from summer to winter clothing. Adults are asked to contact the office if they are available to assist on those days.
The First Teen Clothes Closet has also put out a call for these donated items:
- men’s deodorant
- gently used backpacks
- guy’s jeans
First Lutheran welcomes all people to participate in Christ’s mission through our ministries, worship and programs, whether you are a member or not. Membership does, however, benefit our congregation. If you’re a member, we know your contact information, can more easily provide you with ministry opportunities and invite you to offer your gifts to the rest of this family of faith. The next new member session will be Sun., Sept. 27, with new member Sunday on Oct. 4. Children are welcome to be present. To register your family or ask questions, call our church office at 608.783.2236 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
