Clothes Closet Update for February 2016

Thank you to the 12 current and potential volunteers who attended the January orientation and training for the First Teen Clothes Closet. We anticipate being able to expand the hours we can take appointments or host open house/drop-in availability to better serve those who need our services.

December was a busy month, with 24 teens receiving items. This has left the closet short on boys’ jeans, especially. Other needs include boys’ khakis in tall sizes, boys’ lounge/pajama pants and underwear. As always, donations of gently-used, teen appropriate clothing, footwear, accessories and hygiene items may be dropped off in the shopping cart on the west side of the main entryway to the church. If you are involved in another community organization that is interested in holding a drive for the clothes closet, please contact Lori Lunney or Sarah Larkin to find out what the greatest needs are at this time. The committee would be glad to provide flyers, business cards or other information to assist in the effort.

If you were unable to attend the host orientation/training in January, but are interested in being a part of this ministry, contact Bridget Crave (bridget@firstlu.org), Lori Lunney or the church office.
