The OWLs event to tour Rochester, MN by trolley on Friday, April 4, 2019 has been canceled, as the event planners (Brian and Mary Narveson) needed to extend their stay in Colorado (Mary hurt her hip while skiing). The Narvesons thank everyone for their understanding.

“In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes…” (and God’s love, of course)! So with all that in mind, we want to invite accountants, tax-preparers, financial advisors and others in the financial industry to join us for worship on Sunday, Mar. 10, to receive a special blessing during this busy time of year.
This summer First Lutheran will be a pick up location for the Small Family Farm CSA (community supported agriculture), on Wednesdays, 11am-6pm… so you can pick up your produce and then attend worship! Price increases April 1. More info: smallfamilycsa.com.

Clothes Closet Needs:
Donations to the First Teen Clothes Closet have been steadily rolling in, but we have a few empty spaces on specific shelves. What we need (clean and gently-used, please!):
Athletic shorts (guys and girls, especially larger sizes)
Sweatshirts and hoodies (especially XXL)
Men’s jeans — size 38, 40 & 44 waist
Guys athletic and lounge pants
Clothes Closet Help Wanted:
The First Teen Clothes Closet needs you! As we serve more than 2x as many youth, that means more clothes to sort, more hosts needed, and more hands to organize. Could you spend 3:30-6:30pm on a Monday hosting shopping hours? Or a couple of hours a week—at your convenience—sorting donations at the house or “resetting” the Closet after a busy night? Email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Do you or someone you know have an interest in being a servant leader, living and serving alongside one of the ELCA’s global companions? ELCA Young Adults in Global Mission (YAGM) is a one-year international service-learning and faith-formation opportunity for young adults, ages 21 to 29. Young adults serve alongside Lutheran companion church bodies and organizations in one of 11 country programs, being shaped by the witness of our global neighbors in a cross-cultural journey of faith. Service opportunities exist in Argentina, Uruguay, Australia, Serbia, Cambodia, Jerusalem/West Bank, Madagascar, Mexico, Rwanda, Senegal and Tanzania. Areas of service include, but are not limited to, health and development, congregational ministry, human rights, education, homelessness, addiction recovery, women’s issues, and children and youth. All site placements provide opportunities for young adults to confront issues of wealth and poverty, racial privilege, economic disparity and globalization through the lens of faith. Applications are open now through Feb. 15, 2019. Learn more and apply TODAY: elca.org/YAGM.
