Just a reminder to our families at First Lutheran that there is no Sunday School the next two Sundays, December 23 and 30. Have a very, merry Christmas! “See you next year,” on Sunday, January 6!
We are off to a fantastic start with 140 students registered! A couple changes to make note of…
VBS was a huge success this year with 80 children participating! We also had many youth leading and parents getting involved with their children through the activities!
Our congregation’s children lived fully alive through games, crafts, lessons, music and dancing!
Thank you to all of you who volunteered… Beth’s already looking forward to next year!
Youth and adults, bring your backpacks, briefcases, messenger bags, purses, etc. to church THIS SUNDAY MORNING so that we may bless the start of your new school year! Put them in your car RIGHT NOW!
TODAY is the LAST DAY TO REGISTER for VBS online! And we ask everyone to register online and NOT at the door so that we have a good idea of numbers and have some time to prepare for your kiddos! Thanks!
Can't wait to get the fun started on Sunday!
The final day to turn in funds raised to cover Sugar Creek registration expenses for summer 2018 is Sunday, May 27. Thanks!
Thank you to all of the volunteers who made Sunday school possible! It’s you who made this ministry happen, and we look forward to seeing you again next year!
Just a reminder that tomorrow (Wednesday, May 9) is our Sunday School Spring Concert! This will be held during Wednesday night worship.
Parents/Guardians: Bring your children at 6pm to their opening rooms. Worship starts at 6:15 and after worship please pick up your child in their opening room and return to the Narthex for fellowship and yummy treats!
Any questions please let me know!
Gratefully, Beth Miller

I am looking for Sunday School teachers and Children’s Time helpers! These people get to see our congregation’s children up close! I love these opportunities as my relationships with these children have grown as we love to laugh, have fun and talk about Jesus. My wish is for others to have those lights in their life! If you can help one Sunday or more contact me!
December is a busy month for us all! Why choose to be a part of all of the events here?... Build more friendships and connection through our community. Along with having memories that last a lifetime! The biggest game-changer for me is that when I see children interact here, they have sought out those relationships in other areas (school, dance, sporting event, etc.). Looking forward to growing together, serving others and knowing God!
- January: Sledding!
- February: Movie Night!
Parents and kids will gather together at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday, September 10, in the sanctuary for a kick-off of this year’s Sunday School program. Register your children, get more information, meet the teachers, pick up a Sunday School calendar and get the ball rolling!
Questions? Contact Sunday School Superintendent, Beth Miller, at firstname.lastname@example.org.

A reminder to all First Lutheran Sunday School families that this Sunday, May 21, is the last day of Sunday School. A reminder to all First Lutheran Sunday School families that this Sunday, May 21, is the last day of Sunday School. Save the date for registration at First Fest on September 10!
And just because Sunday School is done doesn't mean our events and ministries are! See our Summer Events Insert for a full list of summer opportunities, and join us for worship throughout the summer on Sundays at 8am and 10:30am, or on Wednesdays at 6:15pm if your weekends are busy! See you then!
This weekend is Faith Families! Children will attend their opening first and then join their families in the Fellowship Hall. Faith Families is a picnic style Bible study for your family and our larger church family. Please bring your Bibles!

Here comes the busy time of year! We have about 100 students regularly attending Sunday School! Kindergarten through 5th-graders did some beautiful singing in church, as did the 3-year and 4-year-olds on Nov. 20th. We will get to worship together for the Christmas Program on December 14th. Detailed to the right is what we have until the end of the year.
Thank you for the continued support!
We are collecting indoor and outdoor hats for local hospitals and the Hats Off for Cancer National Drive. We are asking for NEW hats and head scarves. Indoor hats are especially appreciated! The drive will take place Nov. 20—Dec. 18, with a special offering during the service on Dec. 18. Look for collection bins in the narthex.
Less than a week until Vacation Bible School, starting on Sunday, August 7 and running through Thursday, August 11; 5–8pm each night. Come join in the fun! Register online!
Thank you for the overwhelming response to the call for Sunday School teachers! We have all the teachers spots filled! Yahoo! If you are interested in being on the sub list, let us know! We are still looking for some extra help in the musical opening for K-5th. If you are interested in getting the kiddos excited and organized to worship through music contact us!
Joel and I have prayerfully considered and accepted the responsibility of being Sunday School Superintendents at First. One of our goals is to equip the teachers with what they need to pass on faithful practices and actions to the students and to continue the positive work being done in the Sunday School. I have had the opportunity to go to Living Room Summit, which reaffirmed the importance for our youngsters to have faithful adults in their families, congregation and communities. Faith Families was another part of Living Room Summit. Faith Families is a family Bible story study that we look forward to implementing four times during the 2016-2017 Sunday School year. Stay tuned for more information!
