The final day to turn in funds raised to cover Sugar Creek registration expenses for summer 2019 is Sunday, June 2. Thanks!
The synod needs volunteers for the Synod Assembly, June 14-16, held in La Crosse this year. In addition to wearing red vests, volunteers play an important role in making the assembly run smoothly, starting with registration on Friday evening and throughout the Saturday and Sunday sessions. This a great opportunity to meet members and clergy from other ELCA congregations in our synod, participate in worship and prayer throughout the three days and feel the satisfaction of helping the mission of our church.

There are opportunities to serve as a Sunday School teacher and a leader in VBS:
A Sunday School teacher is a 1-2 weekend a month commitment in which you connect with our congregations children! It is super easy with the curriculum!
VBS is another way to connect, this is so fun and is high energy! If you like to play games or would like to help organize or help in anyway please consider!
Layout your best red outfit right now and join us for worship tomorrow at 8am or 10:30am!
Just a reminder that tomorrow (Wednesday, May 9) is our Sunday School Spring Concert! This will be held during Wednesday night worship.
Parents/Guardians: Bring your children at 6pm to their opening rooms. Worship starts at 6:15 and after worship please pick up your child in their opening room and return to the Narthex for fellowship and yummy treats!
Any questions please let me know!
Gratefully, Beth Miller

A reminder to all First Lutheran Sunday School families that this Sunday, May 21, is the last day of Sunday School. A reminder to all First Lutheran Sunday School families that this Sunday, May 21, is the last day of Sunday School. It is truly a blessing to have the kids involved in Sunday School this past year, and we look forward to having them back in Sunday School when we start up again in September. Save the date for registration at First Fest on September 10!
And just because Sunday School is done doesn't mean our events and ministries are! See our Summer Events Insert for a full list of summer opportunities, and join us for worship throughout the summer on Sundays at 8am and 10:30am, or on Wednesdays at 6:15pm if your weekends are busy! See you then!
Need help changing a light bulb? Can’t lift a piece of furniture? Recovering from a procedure that makes it hard to cook? HELPING HANDS is a ministry where a person in need fills out a brief request including their name and contact information, which is then hung on the “Helping Hands” board by the nursery. Then anyone who thinks they can help out can take the slip and call the number to work out the details. It’s great for those needing a handy person, a little extra muscle, or an extra meal.
This ministry is open to all in need of help and to those who can provide the help. There is no set group of “helpers” so we need involvement from all who can be a blessing to someone else. Let’s pray this ministry will be a shining example of “God’s work, our hands!”
Bike to Worship is another way to extend Bike to Work Week into an important activity of our lives. The Driftless Region Bicycle Coalition invites and encourages First, and all local places of worship, to participate in this fun and healthy program! This is a great opportunity for you to encourage your family and fellow members to do something that is healthy for them and the environment.
