Clothes Closet Update for January 2017

There are a few specific needs for which we would still welcome donations now:
• coats
• shoes
• boots
• items in hard-to-find XXL and larger sizes

Thanks to the generosity of our congregation and community, the First Teen Clothes Closet has full racks for nearly all items. There are a few specific needs for which we would still welcome donations now: coats, shoes, boots and items in hard-to-find XXL and larger sizes.

We also recently received a grant from the Franke Foundation for the second consecutive year. These funds are used to fill specific needs unmet by donations, including toiletries, undergarments, and snacks for our guests, along with the additional funds needed to “take the show on the road” for special events with partners such as the Boys & Girls Club. We are also investigating options to provide transportation support to help guests access the closet, since many of our appointments are outside the times when public transit is available from La Crosse to Onalaska.

Learn more about the closet on the church’s website or “like” the closet’s Facebook page (facebook.com/1stteencloset) for periodic updates and announcements regarding special needs. Donations of clothing may be dropped off any time the church is open in the shopping cart located in the front entryway.
