Foundation Update for August 2023
The Mabel Anderson Scholarship is awarded by First Lutheran’s Foundation Committee. The committee awarded twelve scholarships to area high school seniors for the 2022-23 school year. The students from Logan High School are Sophia Stanton and Christopher McGraff. Holmen High School recipients are Annabel Reitzel, Kyla Christnovich and Jack Tracey. Onalaska High School recipients are Samuel Pica, Ava Kloehn, Macy Meyer, Alli Thomas, Cameron Deml, Bryce Buchanan and Nathan Olson.
As part of the scholarship application, each student submits an essay sharing where they are planning to continue their education, what they plan to study and how their involvement in the church has helped them prepare for their continued education. In May, we awarded these scholarship winners at service and celebrated them during coffee hour.
These scholarships are possible due to generous gifts of First Lutheran Church members who submit funds designated to the Foundation Committee. The Foundation also awards grants to ELCA Groups (internal and external), Community Groups and to our Building and Grounds for improvements.
