OWLs Fly to Chippewa Valley Museum

  • Chippewa Valley Museum West Half Moon Drive Eau Claire, WI, 54703 United States (map)

For our May outing we will travel to Eau Claire to visit the Chippewa Valley Museum. This is a highly rated museum that has excellent exhibits and beautifully preserved historic buildings detailing the history of the Chippewa Valley. The museum also offers fun activities, a 1950s ice cream parlor, a museum store and rotating special exhibits. A visitor favorite is the multi-media object theater “This Day.” The Chippewa Valley Museum sits beneath towering pines in Eau Claire’s beautiful Carson Park, a 134-acre peninsula nestled inside horseshoe-shaped Half Moon Lake. A fantastic opportunity to learn more of Wisconsin’s history. This grand adventure will depart from the church at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 26. It is about a 90 minute drive to Eau Claire, where we will have lunch at a local establishment. After lunch we will visit the museum and depart for home (after a stop for refreshments at the museum’s ice cream parlor) about 3:30. We should be back at the church by 5 PM. Cost of the museum is $7, lunch is on your own. The museum and grounds are handicap accessible and they have wheelchairs available. Please let Brian know ahead of time if you would like one reserved. Please call or email Brian Narveson at owls@firstlu.org or 608-526-9700 by Tuesday night, May 24, if you plan to attend. The outing is scheduled late in May to increase the chance of warm weather.
