Entering 6th Grade Milestone

  • Fellowship Hall 410 Main Street Onalaska, WI, 54650 United States (map)

At First Lutheran we are deeply committed to bringing the presence of God into the lives of children everywhere they go. This Grade 6 Milestone is for the sixth grader AND their parents/guardians as they transition from elementary to middle school, and celebrates that each child is made in the image of God. We spend our time in four weeks talking about being created in the image of God, how God is in the midst of change and ways that we can feel connected with God through spiritual practices. Here is what the four weeks look like:

  • Week 1, Sunday, Sept. 16: Parents/guardians and youth together

  • Week 2, Sunday, Sept. 23: Parents talking about spiritual practices; youth talking with a medical professional about changing bodies.

  • Week 3, Sunday, Sept. 30: Parents sample "Parent Share"; youth talking about spiritual practices. Parents will joing their youth for the last 15 minutes.

  • Week 4, Sunday, Oct. 7, in worship: Blessing of life milestone.

Location: Fellowship Hall.
