Luther College Nordic Choir

The Luther College Nordic Choir, one of the top a cappella college choirs in the nation, will perform under the direction of guest conductor Jeffrey Douma, on Sunday, January 22 at 4pm at First Lutheran in Onalaska. The concert performance by the 72-member Nordic Choir is open to the public. For advance tickets call 800-4-LUTHER or go to tickets.luther.edu; tickets for sale at the door if not sold out.

This concert is a part of Nordic Choir's 2017 Midwest Tour. The program will include selections from the following: “Jubilate Deo” by Benjamin Britten, “The Road Home” by the late Stephen Paulus, and “Always Singing” by Dale Warland, as well as hymn arrangements, spirituals, and the traditional Nordic Choir closing piece, "O Lord God" by Pavel Chesnokov.

Luther is home to one of the largest collegiate music programs in the world with six choirs, three bands, three orchestras, two jazz bands and numerous chamber ensembles, totaling nearly 1,000 student musicians. Luther's students perform in large ensembles, faculty-coached chamber groups, private lessons and master classes. More than 300 music majors study music theory/ear training, history, education, composition, church music and performance.
