#1 Lift Every Voice and Sing
"Lift Every Voice and Sing" is hymn #841 in our hymnal, and kicks off our Summer Song Series. Often referred to as "The Black National Anthem," the hymn was written as a poem by James Weldon Johnson, and his brother, John Rosamond Johnson, composed the music for the lyrics.
