Where We’re Headed Next

Over the past months, First Lutheran Church has been listening—through surveys, conversations, leadership input, and community voices—to discern where God may be calling us next. This season of listening is now giving way to clarity and action.

In the months ahead, the Strategic Planning Support Team will be helping the congregation engage a small number of clear Mission and Ministry Initiatives. These initiatives are designed to address real needs, deepen faith, strengthen community, and guide our ministry focus for the coming years.

Here’s what to expect:

  • This winter and spring, initiatives will be introduced through Cottage Meetings, leadership gatherings, and the Annual Meeting. These conversations are an invitation—to listen, reflect, and offer input.

  • This spring, FLC members will be encouraged to serve on Initiative Teams that will help shape and launch this work.

  • Over the summer, teams will prepare for ministry launches, recruit participants, and develop clear plans.

  • This fall, initiatives will be shared broadly with the congregation through a unified theme and intentional invitations to participate.

Focus Forward is not about doing more—it’s about doing what matters most, together. We invite you to pray, participate, and consider where your gifts and passions might align with what God is unfolding at First Lutheran.
